Day 28 - A Song That Makes Me Feel Guilty
Eminem - Stan
Off Eminem’s Best Album, In My Opinion. Most of the best albums out there speak intense emotions, intense realities (Usher’s Confessions, Maxwell’s BLACKsummers Night, Paramore’s All We Know Is Falling, The Velvet Rope, just to name a few).
I can’t help but feel bad hearing this one, because you know there’s someone out there who’s reaching out when no one is looking.
So I was running at the gym, I saw this group cover Hall & Oates on the Ellen Show. I was intrigued, so I googled them.
This song, and how its sung, pretty much sums up how I felt about everyone after last saturday, no joke!
Have a good weekend people.
Day 29 - A Song From Your Childhood
Bone Thugs N Harmony - Crossroads
I remember listening to Bone Thugs N Harmony with my cousin Krystle in Reno. We both got the East 1999 Eternal CD and classified ourselves as 100% gangster. Almost a decade later I’m square as fuck most of the time haha, but the album is still just as raw.
Couple up west coast-influenced beats (the group was signed onto the scene by Easy-E r.i.p.) with the group’s unmistakable fast flows, and you got one of the best gangster rap groups to come out of the East/Midwest besides Wu-Tang.
BTW here’s the album if you want it haha

It’s always around this time of year I feel the need to give credit to those who surround my everyday life.
It’s very easy to feel alone in this world. Sometimes, the despair contrived within our own mind can dwarf any sense of physical displacement. A lack of companionship. The absence of a support system. The change from having something to not having it at all. A sense that no one has any idea what you are thinking and how you feel. Comparisons that turn into envies. There are may ways to feel alone.
But if we just take a step back, take a deep breath, and remember that we were never meant to experience all of “this” alone to begin with, we can switch the emphasis from being about WHAT we do in life to WHO we live life with. And as selfish as we may be, in a sense, that’s all that really matters.
Interdependency. Symbiosis.
We are tiles to a mosaic; the depiction of a masterpiece we will only know in conclusion as a whole, never as an individual.
The 30-Day Song Challenge (Starting from 30 to 1)
Day 30: Your favorite song at this time last year
Drake - Best I Ever Had
This Drake track was FIRE. And now he’s everywhere, for better or worse, haha. He’s living large and in charge. And I refuse to show the actual music video b/c it is very, very poorly made.
Bruno Mars - Count on Me
I like. Another feel good joint for the ears.
Kinda interested to see how the Nas x Damien Marley collab turns out…it releases May 18th.
But for now this mashup will definitely suffice. Click the photo to listen.
Oldie but goodie…can’t help but get good vibes from this song. Have a great week people!
Bob Marley & Lauryn Hill - Turn Your Lights Down Low
For some reason, this scene hella sticks out from my childhood memories of watching fresh prince every night!
